In 2008, iBird was the first app to prove that birders didn't need to carry heavy printed field guides into the outdoors to help them identify birds. (1) Birds Around Me (BAM). Uses your GPS location to match just those species that are found in a 25 to 150 mile radius you set. You may also pick the seasons that are used for matching. This helps identify birds by only showing you those that are likely to be in the area you are searching for the season you selected. You may also type in any address you wish to see what species are found at a specific location.

(2) Percevia. Our patented search algorithm prevents you from selecting search characteristics that will not help you identify a bird. It does this by not allowing the selection of attributes or values which would not narrow the search or would lead to a null (not found) result. For example, if you are selecting color from a list and the birds in your area do not have any black color, then that color will not be displayed in the search engine.

(3) Search Attributes. iBird Plus reduces the number of search attributes for finding a bird from the full 37 found in Ultimate and Pro to the 17 most useful. If you use the in-app purchase to buy the Percevia smart search feature, the attributes are increased to the full 37.
